Tough, dependable, easy to operate outrigger bases
The Kilwell Wishbone Outrigger Base is easy to
operate, tough and dependable. It offers trouble-free performance
when laying out for fishing or down for bridge clearance. The large
screw-clamp secures your outriggers firmly at any angle, but there
is also a preset stop collar for your favourite fishing position
too. A separate clamp on the wishbone arm secures the outriggers in
the up position, out of the way when travelling. Compatible Kilwell
Powerpole PP42 outriggers are designed to drop straight into these
bases.

Installation Instructions:
- The Kilwell Wishbone Outrigger base is designed to fit with two
feet on the cabin side and the bottom base mounted to the gunnel,
or buy fitting a spacer it can be mounted with all three feet on a
flat side. The area needs to provide adequate support and allow for
easy operation. It is recommended that backing plates are mounted
inside the hull, to spread the load. - Position the bases so that the outriggers are on an angle
towards the rear of your hull. Ideally the when the outriggers are
deployed, the outrigger tips should be towards the stern of your
vessel. This avoids tip wrap on your rods when the lines
release. - The distance between the top and bottom bases should be kept in
the range of 18cm-36cm apart for proper operation. - The base with locking latch should be placed on the underside
of the main tube on both sides. This ensures that the latch will
hang free when the outriggers are deployed. - All mounting bases should be through bolted using 6mm Stainless
countersunk bolts with backing plates, washers and Nyloc nuts. If
installing against aluminium you will need to
create an RTV gasket on each base to prevent electrolysis. - Adjust the stop collar and secure in place with a hex key
wrench, at the desired deployment position. It is recommended to
apply Loctite to all bolts once you have the collars etc. in the
correct position. - Outrigger poles can either be glued into the bases, or if a
snug fit can be installed without glue, but ensure the outrigger
cords are fixed to the bases or boat when in use. - The outriggers can be laid down on the hull for trailering or
when navigating under a bridge, by releasing the locking latch and
disconnecting the quick release pin.
